Yassine Ouhilal is a photographer and filmmaker known for pioneering and documenting new and unchartered surf destinations including several in Arctic regions.
He studied film production at the Mel Oppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University in Montreal and has since been shooting editorial and commercial photography for surf, active lifestyle publications and commercial clients which include Eddie Bauer and Quiksilver.
Yassine's fine art photography has been featured in several solo exhibits including "Thawscapes" which showcases the effects of global warming on arctic landscapes. He is currently a recipient of a three year artist residency with the National Film Board of Canada and the Fogo Island Arts Corporation in Fogo Island, Canada.
In his spare time, Yassine enjoys surfing- usually in cold and uncrowded waves.
